THE MOI UNIVERSITY INSECURITY

Have the investigations reached a Dead End...?

police cross over moi university gate to calm the rioting students after the murder of their fellow third year female comrade

In line with the last weak murder of a third year female student in the moi university premises, there are a lot of promises that were made by various authorities. to start with, the vice chancellor promised that the security will be beefed to the maximum within the campus surrounding. it is an idea and a plan that I can say was quick to be implemented. I proved this beyond doubt last night. My destination to my room was last night interrupted by police officers who demanded to frisk me and my friends. fulfilling this does not mean that much have been done to settle the doubts and the fear that in now well established in the minds of the majority.

"...if we cant get the feedback, at least let us get a
guarantee for the safety of our lives in the campus..."

The police had a part to play. They are obligated to provide Kenyans with security and ensure that they are not only safe but also comfortable with their property. During this period, the police officers through their head, the OCPD, promised to carry out investigation and provide the students and the concerned with a well established report as soon as possible. The situation seem to be abandoned as much water has now passed  under the bridge. "Justice delayed is justice denied", scholars claim. Are we ever going to be provided with a feedback of the investigation or this is just to watch us diffuse off the story. it is time we get a responsible and accountable security system in the varsity premise. the old non exixting method seem to have failed greatly.
